VS 5™

Paving stone with shift resistance on five sides of the stones for surface structures.

VS 5 is a structural pavement consisting of square and rectangular stones with shift protection on the stone sides and the bottom surface. These shift protections provide the pavement with stable conditions for both horizontal and vertical loads.

The shift protection bars on all 4 sides interlock with the neighboring stones. The grooves on the lower surface lock the bedding material in the hollow spaces and prevent shifting.

Extended scientific tests have been performed to confirm the outstanding shift resistance. Prof. Dr. Ing. Klaus Krass, Ruhr University Bochum, Germany, reports that VS 5 stones with its profiles (grooves) on the bottom side has a friction coefficient of up to 54% higher than concrete stones of the same size without profiles (grooves).
