SF Rima™ permeable concrete paving stone system
Rapid urbanization has posed new challenges on all of us. We build more houses, plazas, commercial buildings and roads. All these surfaces are impervious and generate additional runoff during rainstorms. These runoffs carry pollutants and sediments that enter water sources. They erode streams, degenerate environments and pollute drinking water.
U.S. federal law mandates that states control water pollution in runoff through the National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES). Environmental agencies in the United States and Canada also require to implement best management practices (BMPs) to control non-point source pollution in runoff. |

SF-Rima™ pavements are the solution to deal with stormwater runoff. They are very effective in providing infiltration at the spot, allowing rainwater to pass through joints between the stones, through aggregate layers for temporary storage, filtering, and treatment and eventually it is released to the ground water.
SF-Rima permeable pavements can reduce runoff of almost 100% from frequent, low intensity and short rainstorms. The long-term infiltration rate is estimated at 3.8 in./hr. for a 20-year life. It is recommended however, to provide drainage swales to handle flows that exceed the design rainstorm.
SF-Rima™ pavements are eligible for LEED credits under the U.S. and Canadian Green Building Councils guidelines.

SF-Rima™, with its unique spacer design, can be installed in two very different ways.
For water drainage:
Installed in close assembly with spacer touching stone. Joints filled with gravel. Ideal for mechanized installation. Stone requirement: 22.8 stones/square meter.
Applications: Low-trafficked roads, drive ways, industrial and commercial parking lots, side walks, patios and more!
For turf growth:
Installed with larger joints – spacer on spacer – filled with a soil-gravel mix. Stone requirement: 20.4 stone/square meter.
Applications: Driveways, parking lots, street medians, garden paths, patios and more!
